Foam systems for warehouses with hazardous materials

In warehouses where flammable liquids are stored, it is necessary to add extinguishing foam concentrate to extinguishing installations.

Both the NFPA and EN13565 require strong testing policies. This is the only way to guarantee that your installation works correctly. For example, testing mechanical mixers is a complex and expensive process. With this type of mixing installation it is necessary to actually mix water and extinguishing foam concentrate.

Since extinguishing foam concentrates often contain PFAS, the processing of the formed water-foam mixture is difficult. The

costs for the disposal and processing of the water-foam mixture have risen enormously and are expected to rise further as environmental standards set increasingly strict requirements.

For this problem, we can adapt your installation with our FoamTronic solution, after which testing become simple and affordable. Moreover, it is no longer necessary to dispose water-foam mixture.

TRANSITION TO FLUORINE-FREE EXTINGUISHING FOAM

We now know the harmful effect on the environment and the production and use of PFAS-containing fire-fighting foams will be banned in Europe. In the long run, only F3 extinguishing foam concentrate (Fluorine Free Foam) may be used. This F3 foam generally has a higher viscosity than fluorine-containing foam. This has important consequences for the operation of your installation.

With the modernization of your installation with the FoamTronic system with the pressure tank system, your installation is ready for the future. This system will also be able to correctly mix the F3 foams where your existing installation is probably not yet able to do.
